New season started!

So excited to be back on stage after the Xmas break! We first had a tiny private gig for a couple in our studio last thursday, and they sure knew how to cheer! It was also specially nice to get to perform our Aurora Borealis act again with three people, since we haven't been able to do so since the premier at the Suomi Burleski Gaala last October (three girls spinning with a pair of veil fans each do take a lot of space!)

Friday was a very exciting day for the whole Finnish burlesque scene, and that's because the world premier of the documentary "Bettie Page Reveals All" was being held in Helsinki at the DocPoint documentary festival! Pepper already had the chance to promote this movie in December, and was now delighted to present the director Mark Mori and the producer Thorpe Mori, and to conduct the Q&A section after the screenings on both Friday and Saturday.

Unluckily enough not everybody could make it to the premier (for example Bettie Blackheart was rocking the stage at Queen Calavera in Hamburg), but we did manage to gather a lot of the Finnish burlesque performers in Helsinki.

New Year, New Update!

As you can imagine we've all been crazy busy again, and we have lacked time to update this properly! So many things have happened since last time we managed to keep you informed that it's difficult to know where to start. To begin with, let me tell you that the gig list (past and upcoming) is now fully updated (if you have a look you may understand why we've been so busy), and if you look at the upcoming dates you'll see there are some booked even in the end of the year! That means that if you think you might want to have us booked for your event at some point this year you should let us know about it early in advance, in order to be sure it'll work out (although we always try our best to make all booking enquiries work out).

Sooo, where to begin with? Pepper did indeed perform at the Stockholm Burlesque Festival in October, and it was a blast! So many amazingly talented performers and such a mindblowing audience! Stockholm you were good to me, hope to see you again! <3

Soon after that it was time for the glorious Suomi Burleski Gaala, where public is treated to a full show full of some of Finland's very best burlesque performers, and serves as a fundraiser for the following year's Helsinki Burlesque Festival. As in the last year, and to keep up with the nice traditions, we presented a new group act, Aurora Borealis. This act was a test out of our comfort zone, and an attempt at creating a piece that would be beautiful and would reflect the beauty of Finnish nature and culture (we decided to use the song "Farewell" from the Finnish band Apocalyptica, the melodies of which seemed to fit just perfectly). We have to say the reaction of the audience and the feedback we got (most of all a very special one) totally exceded our wildest expectations, even when a bunch of people ended up dropping a tear or two (ooops, we're really sorry! :-D)
In case you missed that one, here you go a chance to have a look at it:

The rest of the year consisted mostly of smaller gigs here and there (and a LOT of fun), but we'll stop spamming you for now. What we will tell you though is that this upcoming year is going to be a BLAST, and we're so looking forward to it! We all have new solo acts coming (and probably a couple of group acts) and a lot of exciting events we still can't share with you, so stay tuned! ;-)

Stockholm Burlesque Festival! <3

Oi oi, less than a month left for the International Stockholm Burlesque Festival, and our Pepper will be performing in there on Friday! First time at an international Festival for any of us, and even though this time it is only Pepper we hope we'll soon visit some of the lovely festivals around Europe altogether <3

Luckily for Pepper she will have a most wonderful company during the event, since Sir Willy Waterlily, The Itty Bitty Tease Cabaret and a bunch of other friends are also part of the lineup!
You can find more info about this event also through facebook.

Besides performing on Friday, Pepper will also hit the stage briefly on Saturday, for the Octbooberfest! The Octbooberfest it a tassel twirling championship, but most importantly it is a fundraiser for a very serious issue, breast cancer. You can find more information about the event and how you can also help this cause through their facebook page.

Tassel making/twirling workshop by Pepper in Tallinn this Saturday 14.9!

Pepper will be visiting Tallinn this weekend, and she'll be teaching a tassel workshop!
Prepare to learn how to craft pasties that can be made into any shape you wish, and tassels that will twirl forever and without (much) effort! She'll also be teaching different ways to twirl one or two tassels, and be assured that whatever your booby size and/or skill level, you will manage to twirl those tassels! ;-D

She'll be teaching techniques learnt from attending many different workshops with different performers, so you'll be getting all the tassel tricks you need without needing to wait for all these other performers to come teach in Tallinn. :-)

For registrations please contact Affinity Starr, her email can be found in the description of this event in facebook! :-)

Velvet Night Tea Room + Teatterifestivaali Lainsuojamattomat

Oh my, what a weekend! Unless you don't live in Finland (or you've been hiding the whole weekend), you must have been just a few kms away from a burlesque event this week! There's been so many and so awesome ones, that I think I'm going to refrain from mentioning them, because I'm sure I'm probably going to forget some :-D

Which means, all Thee Dizzy Daisies have been shaking tailfeathers around this weekend! Gigi performed at the Lainsuojamattomat Theater Festival in Pori, and had the pleasure of joining Sir Willy Waterlilly for a duo as his very own Eve! And if you have ever been lucky enough to watch Willy on stage, you know that's definitely a pleasure ;-D

In the meanwhile, Sandy and Pepper joined a lineup of amazing finnish performers at the second edition of the deliciously cozy Velvet Night Tea Room at Wäiski, Sandy with her exotic and mysterious snake number (which had previously only been performed at the Helsinki Burlesque Festival), and Pepper with her brand new silent-movie-crossdresser-chap number!

From our part the hugest thanks to all the amazing performers we had the honour to share the stage with this weekend, the organizers for letting us be part of it, and of course the audiences for being so awesome! <3

Teerenpeli Tease - Circus

In a week and a half in Tampere, Pepper will join the first Teerenpeli Tease of the autumn/winter season! The theme for this event is the Circus, and besides the usual tail-feather shaking you'll be treated to some real circus awesomeness! So save the date and remember that the tickets can only be bought at the door with cash! ;-)

Big fat update!

Oh my, what a Spring/Summer this has been! We've been so terribly busy with our dayjobs, photoshoots, dancing, deadlines, and of course burlesque, that the updates have just been piling up mercilessly! But enough of that! So here you go what we've been up to lately, in case you've been wondering ;-)

First of all, WE ABSOLUTELY ADORED TALLINN!
We were most thrilled, honoured and excited to take part in the first Vintage Glamour party, organized by the amazing Müstika Magical Theatre, and sharing the stage with so many talented artists! Besides gorgeous estonian burlesque artists Chrissy Kiss and Affinity Starr, we also had the honour to share the stage with some of the most amazinglh talented bellydancers from Müstika, as well as the Kelfirius Fire Theatre! And from what I've heard there are plans for more Vintage Glamour happenings coming up, so stayed tune for that! ;-D

And if this magnificent event weren't enough, on the following day we got to share some fun and tail feather shaking with a bunch of gorgeous estonian ladies! Gigi and Pepper taught two workshops (Burlesque A to Z, and Old School Kitty Cat), and we must say estonians definitely have talent! We can't wait to be back for somemore shaking and fun!

Which reminds me, GIGI AND PEPPER ARE CURRENTLY ALSO AVAILABLE FOR WORKSHOPS AND HEN PARTIES! So just drop us a line and let us know what's in your mind, all the Dizzy Daisies have many years of experience on stage and have also attended the workshops on many international burlesque stars and legends! ;-)

And before I continue with the next event, I would like to express our deepest thanks and all our love to the brain behind Müstika, the gorgeous dancer, perfect hostess and dear friend Berit Vill <3 <3 <3

The next big thing we have been involved with after Tallinn has been the delicious Sinsational Spring Awakening! Which this year starred international burlesque performers Erochica Bamboo and Minnie Tonka, as well as a selection of awesome finnish performers! We had the honour to join this event as part of the crazy Finnish 8-girl troupe The Tourettes, which this time consisted of Thee Dizzy Daisies, The Itty Bitty Tease Cabaret, Kitty Lit Ter and Lucie Good Ness. We just LOVE performing with this crazy bunch, and hope to be able to develope this project further in the future! :-D

If the Spring Awakening had a delicious combination of national and international performers, then the following weekends event, aka T.t. Tassel's birthday bash just had the best of Finland! It was definitely one of those occasions that make you remember why the Finnish burlesque family is so special, and why we are all so lucky to be part of it <3
Oh, and our gal Gigi Praline premiered her new Praline Airlines act as a very special birthday present!

And since this summer has been all about new experiences, the weekend right after T.t. Tassel's birthday party Gigi and Pepper travelled back to lovely Tampere for our very first Summer Festival show! We performed at the Sauna Open Air Festival, which had a lineup including bands such as Volbeat, Hardcore Superstar, Nightwish, Stam1na and Finntroll, and it was a blast! Special thanks go to the lovely lady that came to see our second show from the first row wearing kitty ears after seeing our Crazy Kitties act the previous evening, YOU ROCK <3

I think we might have confused a couple of metalheads with our looks though, yellow is the new black? ;-D

And since Tampere seems to have become our second home, Gigi still travelled there again a few weeks ago for the premier of the burlesque movie Burlesque Assassins! Besides featuring the Finnish premier of this must-see for any burlesque fan, this even also featured some amazing burlesque artists and even one of the stars of the movie itself, the gorgeous Xarah von den Vielenregen! <3

Pepper had the pleasure of both performing at and discovering a new Finnish city, the absolutely gorgeous Rauma! She was part of a turn-of-the-century event prepared by Mr. and Mrs. Manner during the legendary Mustan Pitsin Yö, together with vintage clothings and items, art, and the amazing photographer team Atelieri O. Haapala! The stage turned out to be a gorgeous old building from the 1800 century, and the audience was such that they couldn't even fit inside! An absolutely magic night with very special people <3

And last but not least, when it comes to updating you with what we've been up to, we'd like to add that we're currently working on both new solo and group numbers! So stay tuned because we'll soon be back with some surprises ;-)
