Glitter in Mordor!

Hello everyone!

As outside seems to be a bit of Mordor we´re happy to share some glittering events that will help with this gloomy time of the year!

In less than two weeks we will take our crazy kittehs to the Amsterdam Burlesque Awards´ Sunday Matinée! Very excited to be a part of this! Don´t miss the Thursday event either because we have our own Bent van der Bleu and Sir Willy Waterlily on stage then!

On the 22nd of November the annual Finnish Burlesque Gala is held at Ravintola Kaisaniemi in Helsinki! As in the previous years Bettie Blackheart is bringing you some of the sparkliest of Finnish burlesque and all other years it´s been SOLD OUT so do hurry with the tickets!

Only a week from there Sir Willy is producing the Burlesque Fantastico in Porvoo, combining both passionate tango, acrobatics with burlesque and live music! The tickets are selling fast for this one as well so be quick!

We are also booked for some private events filling up the calendar quite fast so if you want to book us for the upcoming Xmas season send us an e-mail!

Turku Burlesque Weekend

Hello lovelies!

Only a few days to go to NYC but do not fret! You shall see all of Thee Dizzies (solo, group AND in The Tourettes!) in Turku in a couple of weeks! Kiki Hawaiji is making magic happen with the Turku Burlesque Weekend and the tickets are out NOW! Headlining none other than New York´s own Tigger!

Super exciting news!

It's been a while since we've updated our page but so much has happened! Pepper and Gigi had a blast at the first annual Boylesque Festival in Vienna in May and now the Summer has all but gone! We will start to work with a new group coreo next week as well as polishing up our solo acts, no rest for the wicked!

We are super happy to be a part of the New York Burlesque Festival this September, joining a fantabulous line up from all over the world! We're also excited that the Finnish attendance will be a-plenty since besides us Daisies also Tinker Bell, Bettie Blackheart and Frank Doggenstein will be performing there as well!

Before that there will be the release of the FiRST ever! Finnish burlesquezine 'Paljettipommi'!!! Kiki Hawaiji has been working hard on it and fresh from the print the party will be held at Ravintolalaiva Wäiski on August 23rd! Tickets are on sale at Tiketti and there will be performances you really don't want to miss... We have dug up our first numbers, dusted them off and will be serving them to you hot and sweaty!

In October we will perform at the Turku Burlesque Weekend's "Lottery of Love" and will bring solos, a group number AND our joined forces with The Itty Bitty Tease Cabaret aka The Tourettes for a new version of our hump'n'grind -number ;)

November will take us to Amsterdam for the first annual Amsterdam Burlesque Awards where we will rock the stage at the Sunday matinee! There is other stuff going on as well but we'll keep you guessing a bit longer!

The ladies update their personal facebook-profiles as well as their personal blogs more frequently so
feel free to catch up on the latest gigs and news from them as well!

Pepper & Gigi at the Boylesque Festival Vienna!

Omg, we are so extremely excited that we're going crazy in here! Both Pepper and Gigi have been accepted to perform at the first annual Boylesque Festival Vienna in May! And not only that, Finland will definitely be well represented since the always glamorous Lola Vanilla and the charming gentleman Sir Willy Waterlilly will also be performing! <3
Here you go some interesting information about the festival (which is organized by the talented boylesque performer Jacques Patriaque), so you can also understand what all the hassle is about ;-)
And of course, remember to also check the festival's facebook page!

The “1st annual Boylesque Festival Vienna” presents the cream of the crop of this exciting art in Vienna and celebrates two days of burlesque, boylesque, vaudeville, artistry and everything inbetween. This festival is the first of its kind in Europe and connects the flair of Imperialistic Vienna with a modern and open minded city.

May 28th Queerlesque Teaser Party
Genders aside - this evening highlights and celebrates the diversity of Burlesque and sets an example for more tolarance and equality for the LGBT-Community with headliners like Tamara Mascara, Rubyyy Jones!

May 29th Boylesque Main Event
International Boylesque Performers like Tigger, Russel Bruner will prove that men are also able to wiggle their hips glamorously and twirl their tassels like there's no tomorrow! The final show will feature Conchita Wurst, with her song for the Eurovision Song Contest.

On both evenings about 20 artists will perform their Burlesque/Boylesque acts. The compère of the two shows will be the well known entertainer „World Famous BOB“.

After the festival‘s Main Event there will be an After Show Party at Vienna’s new hip club „Chaya Fuera“ to celebrate the Festival once more and to give an opportunity for networking among all participants and fans.

Kustome Kulture Show tonight!

Sandy will be premiering her new fandance tonight at Kaapelitehdas! Sharing the stage with the most gorgeous Bettie Blackheart, Kiki Hawaiji, Tinker Bell, Cherry Turbo-Cherry Dee and Vera de Vil! And hei, we've heard that won't be the only new act tonight! You can also consider this the official tiki warm-up for this year's festival, so you know what to do tonight! ;-)

Queer much?

So many exciting things happening this spring, and we are definitely most excited about the variety and colourfulness of it all! As an example the gig Gigi was performing at last night, at Lahti Pride! Due to last moment problems there had to be some small changes in the lineup, but Gigi, together with the ever glamurous Lola Vanilla, the sweetest Abortia Clinique and the most handsome stage kitten for the night A. le Coq absolutely rocked the stage! Huge thanks go to the awesome audience in Lahti, you made our night!

And continuing with the queer theme, Gigi and Pepper are most thrilled to announced they'll be joining a lineup of amazing national and international drag queens and burlesque artists in the end of March! This is going to be one wild party, so stay tuned and we hope to see you there! ;-)
You can also check the event's facebook event!

New season started!

So excited to be back on stage after the Xmas break! We first had a tiny private gig for a couple in our studio last thursday, and they sure knew how to cheer! It was also specially nice to get to perform our Aurora Borealis act again with three people, since we haven't been able to do so since the premier at the Suomi Burleski Gaala last October (three girls spinning with a pair of veil fans each do take a lot of space!)

happy gals with out Fiona Timantti headpieces <3

Friday was a very exciting day for the whole Finnish burlesque scene, and that's because the world premier of the documentary "Bettie Page Reveals All" was being held in Helsinki at the DocPoint documentary festival! Pepper already had the chance to promote this movie in December, and was now delighted to present the director Mark Mori and the producer Thorpe Mori, and to conduct the Q&A section after the screenings on both Friday and Saturday.

Unluckily enough not everybody could make it to the premier (for example Bettie Blackheart was rocking the stage at Queen Calavera in Hamburg), but we did manage to gather a lot of the Finnish burlesque performers in Helsinki.

New Year, New Update!

As you can imagine we've all been crazy busy again, and we have lacked time to update this properly! So many things have happened since last time we managed to keep you informed that it's difficult to know where to start. To begin with, let me tell you that the gig list (past and upcoming) is now fully updated (if you have a look you may understand why we've been so busy), and if you look at the upcoming dates you'll see there are some booked even in the end of the year! That means that if you think you might want to have us booked for your event at some point this year you should let us know about it early in advance, in order to be sure it'll work out (although we always try our best to make all booking enquiries work out).

Sooo, where to begin with? Pepper did indeed perform at the Stockholm Burlesque Festival in October, and it was a blast! So many amazingly talented performers and such a mindblowing audience! Stockholm you were good to me, hope to see you again! <3

Soon after that it was time for the glorious Suomi Burleski Gaala, where public is treated to a full show full of some of Finland's very best burlesque performers, and serves as a fundraiser for the following year's Helsinki Burlesque Festival. As in the last year, and to keep up with the nice traditions, we presented a new group act, Aurora Borealis. This act was a test out of our comfort zone, and an attempt at creating a piece that would be beautiful and would reflect the beauty of Finnish nature and culture (we decided to use the song "Farewell" from the Finnish band Apocalyptica, the melodies of which seemed to fit just perfectly). We have to say the reaction of the audience and the feedback we got (most of all a very special one) totally exceded our wildest expectations, even when a bunch of people ended up dropping a tear or two (ooops, we're really sorry! :-D)
In case you missed that one, here you go a chance to have a look at it:

The rest of the year consisted mostly of smaller gigs here and there (and a LOT of fun), but we'll stop spamming you for now. What we will tell you though is that this upcoming year is going to be a BLAST, and we're so looking forward to it! We all have new solo acts coming (and probably a couple of group acts) and a lot of exciting events we still can't share with you, so stay tuned! ;-)
